Dublin is one of the San Francisco Bay Area’s newer cities. Incorporated in 1982, the city's population has progressively increased as both residents and businesses found the benefits of calling Dublin home. Part of the rapidly expanding Tri-Valley area, Dublin is 35 miles east of San Francisco. Its proximity to the Interstate 580/Interstate 680 interchange and two Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) stations make Dublin a great location for commuting. Many Dublin homes offer views of Mount Diablo and the surrounding hills. Houses that back up to open space have additional privacy and quiet, while real estate closer to town provides easy access to schools and shopping. 
Las Positas College is located in Livermore, just 15 minutes from Dublin on Interstate 580. Several excellent universities are located within a 30-minute drive, including the University of California, Berkeley; California State University, East Bay; and Saint Mary's College of California. 
Dublin’s 17 city parks offer everything from baseball, soccer, and tennis, to a skate park and BMX course. Dougherty Hills Open Space provides sweeping views of Mount Diablo and the Tri-Valley area. The Dublin Ranch Golf Course, designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr., features rolling hills and panoramic views of Livermore Valley and Mount Diablo from every hole. 
Dublin's 14 square miles are alive with community spirit. Dublin hosts numerous events, including the annual Dublin Pride Week, featuring a volunteer day, poster contest, and a food-collection drive. Dublin’s seasonal farmers' market showcases wines from local vintners, cooking demonstrations, and area talent, from Irish Dancers to jazz bands.
